Baby Shower Invitations When you agree to host a baby shower for someone there are some great ideas that you can use when it comes to the baby shower invitations. Sometimes the mother and father would like to do the invites themselves, but usually it is up to the host to organize the invitations. There are lots of stores and stationary shops where you can find lovely invitations and ones that are not gender specific if the parents don’t want to find out the sex of the baby just yet. You can also get invitations specially made which is great if you can afford to do it and then you can opt to make your own baby shower invitations. When you do your own invites, you do now have the internet to help you find all the best ideas, colors and designs. You can search through tons of websites that offer you pictures of baby items like teddy’s, pins, rattles, prams and such which you can use to design your own invitations. You can also get ready to be printed ones which are excellent if you don’t have a lot of time. Most of them ask you to just fill in the details, or you can just do this by hand after printing them out. Baby shower invitations do not have to be complicated or too over the top. They are simple cards telling people know where to come to celebrate the mother to be or parents to be. Everyone needs to bring a gift of sorts to the shower and you will usually put this onto each person’s invitation. You can be specific which is great if the parents already have some of the items they need, or you can give more freedom to the guests and just ask them to bring baby products or baby clothing. This is to ensure that the mom and dad- to-be don’t get too much of the same thing. Baby shower invitations are normally just sent out to the female friends and members of the family, as the baby shower was always a female gathering where the women would talk about giving birth, share stories and give baby tips. Nowadays though, with men becoming more adjusted to looking after a baby and sharing in the raising more and more, this event can be a joint family affair and just as much fun for the men as well. This depends of course on the games you play and at every baby shower there must be games. For the men, you can have a poker contest with the buy in being a pack of nappies, or you can have the men join the ladies in the tasting the baby food game, guessing the size of the mom-to-be’s tummy using string, and another fun game is to melt different types of chocolate and place them inside some nappies for everyone to guess. When you send out the baby shower invitations you can also have a theme, so keep this in mind. If it is a boy you can make the theme the color blue, a sea theme, trucks, animals and space. If the baby is a girl you can make it all pinks, fairies, princesses and dolls. If you don’t know the sex, make the theme something great for both like stars and rainbows or anything that the parents-to-be like.
